Critical illness insurance can pay a lump sum benefit at the diagnosis of a covered illness. You choose the level of coverage with benefit amounts from $5,000 to $50,000. You can use the money to pay for co-pays, deductibles, childcare, transportation, lodging or any other expenses that you may have.
What is covered?
The following specified critical illnesses are covered under the plan:
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Cancer (Optional)
- Major organ failure
- End-stage renal (kidney) failure
- Coma
- Permanent paralysis
- Blindness
- Coronary artery bypass surgery (pays 25% of lump sum benefit)
