What is accident insurance?
Unum’s accident insurance can help provide protection against the financial impact of covered injuries of an individual or covered family member. This individual policy can help reduce the effect of costs associated with accidents occurring off the job.
Highlights include:
- Can help protect finances from the impact of out-of-pocket expenses related to covered injuries or accidents, such as hospitalization, emergency room treatment, physical therapy, lodging and more
- Once in force, this policy covers you on and off the job, 24/7
- Policies are available on any or all family members: Employee, Spouse and/or Children to age 26
- Your policy is renewable for life to provide coverage even if you leave or retire
- Convenient premium payment through payroll deduction
- Coverage is effective on the first day of the month in which payroll deductions begin
Sickness Hospital Confinement Rider:
- Benefits are paid if the insured individual is confined to a hospital due to a covered sickness (up to 30 days)
- Benefit amounts: $100 per day for employee or spouse; $75 per day for children
- Certain health questions will be asked when applying for employee or spouse coverage
- Includes a 12-month pre-existing condition provision and a nine-month pregnancy exclusion
